Video: Me after the Traumatic Brain Injury

Greetings. I hope you all are well.
First let me thank you for stopping by to read this blog. Thank you for your support. The video I present here had a link on this page for quite some time. I want to share my thoughts on it. This video was shot around January/February timeframe. It is shocking for me to watch it. It presents how I was after the Traumatic Brain Injury. The amazing thing is that today many people see me and comment about how much I have improved. I do see that things are better, and a feel the improvement. I will continue to strive to get better and to help others. This is not the end, it is a new beginning. I'm not going to reach who I was, I am going to reach a new 100%. I am looking forward to continue improving, but most of all I am looking forward to help and motivate others recovering from this injuries, caregivers, and health professionals. In order to improve the treatment of Traumatic Brain Injuries, we have to see it through the injured person eyes. Their insight is priceless. Thank you for allowing me to share this with you.

See you soon!

  1. You are so brave! Keep up the good work...keep going...keep fighting for the care you deserve. What you do for yourself benefits others who follow you. It will only keep getting better. The better it gets, the better it gets. It will take a ridiculous amount of time...I am still getting there 3 1/2 years later....but you will get there. Life will seem "normal" again. I like the way you put it...for a new you.

  4. Victor thank you so much for sharing this with all of us. I am so glad that when you watch this video, you see an improvement from when it was taken and now!

My nephew was 21 when he was in a car accident and suffered TBI, 2 months before he was to graduate college. Today he is 28, and although he is still in a wheelchair and suffers from short-term memory, I am so thankful that he is here with us and we can still cherish his beautiful smile and companionship.

You simply amaze me with your courage and your fighting spirit to bring awareness to this type of injury. I thank you so much for doing this. Sometimes many people, doctors included, seem to think just because one can't physically see an injury, it doesn't exist. You are correct when you said a missing leg would have been easier to receive the proper care, but you are in good hands now with only better things to come your way. God Bless You and Roxanna
