Sultan Against Drunk Driving: TBI Warrior

Happy Tuesday.
This is my first video blog. This is the result of many thoughts and emotional challenges. It is still painful to watch and hear myself. I will use this as a motivation to work harder in my speech. My wish is for all to come back to "normal". I hope this is something you all enjoy.
This is the story of Sultan Noor, a brain injury survivor...

  1. I am very impressed. Victor, you are soooo brave. That takes a lot of guts to do that. Bravo for you! I know you will find, as I have that others are not nearly as critical of your speech as you are. I could never do that.

I really believe that putting yourself in situations and pushing yourself to do things such as this will keep you motivated and keep you on the recovery path.

I have been doing music therapy at home on my own...by just listening to a cd twice a day...and it has helped my speech tremendously to become more natural, fluid and rhythmic. Music uses the same pathways in the brain as speech. You can find out more info about this particular product at
    www.thelisteningprogram.com.

Neurofeedback also really helped my speech. There are lots of different types available under different names. It is miraculous. It is basically training the brainwaves and getting them back to where they should be in amplitude. I did a blog about it with links.

Although I incredibly impressed with the video blog, I have to say I am kinda disappointed. I write your blogs out long hand as part of my manual dexterity therapy...now, I have to go find something else to copy! Keep up the great work!

  2. You are absolutely inspiring! I hope it is ok that I have been following your story and your amazing progress. Keep writing, keep speaking,... with your determination and your equally determined wife, it will definitely get better.

  3. Thank you Debbie and Spockgirl for your encouraging words and your support to my husband, you make a difference in our life.

Debbie- My husband will continue to write, he loves to do it, he will just incorporate also a video but in no way he will substitute the writing for the video. Writing has a therapeutic component so he will continue to express in writing. So you can keep writing his blog postings as much as you want :)

    God Bless!
